Your Heart, Your Cholesterol and MonaVie

Heart health should be on everyone’s mind. The number of new cardiac related cases in the nation’s hospitals is staggering. We have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and declining health, the majority of which is caused by obesity and poor diet. Knowing that we are all facing such a horrible health crisis, you would think more people would pay attention to diet and nutritional news. That does not seem to be the case, however. It is almost as if no one cares that we are digging our ways to an early grave with a fork and spoon.

Cholesterol has been a health concern for many years, but many people either do not know their numbers and what they mean, or they do not care. They blithely eat a cheeseburger and say they are taking the latest cholesterol reducing drug, thinking that the pharmacist has given them some magic elixir that allows them to eat whatever they want and not worry about it. Fast forward six months and these same people are goggling at the doctor and swearing the blood test must have been tainted- there is literally no way their cholesterol can be worse, they have taken their medicine every day! Well, that pill must not be strong enough, they say. Or, that pill is not the right one for me. When the doctor asks if they changed their diet like they were told to, they come to a dead stop. Diet? I was supposed to change the way that I eat, too? And so it goes.

We expect a lot from our heart if you think about it. We expect it to continue beating at its regular pace for every day of our life. As we grow, new vessels must be added to keep up with the demand. The same goes for gaining weight. As we gain weight, we must continually add more blood vessels to keep blood flow to the new, fatter areas of our body. The more we add, the harder the heart works. Once we strain it too far, we get damage in the form of scar tissue or worse. Keep it up and the heart calls “fault” and we have a heart attack. It’s not like the warning signs had not been there all along, we just often choose to ignore them.

We must reduce our weight and lower our cholesterol. We can make sure we get enough plant sterols to help with this, but sometimes that is hard to do. Adding MonaVie Pulse adds not only plant sterols but heart healthy Resveratrol as well. Drinking two servings (a total of 8 oz.) a day of Pulse gives you the suggested amount of plant sterols in a convenient easy to carry with you package.
